♫ Keeping a song in the heart ♫

Sometimes in life we become so clouded by pain, we find ourselves drowning in sorrow, so much that even prayer or a chat with a friend is not an option. We want to express how we feel, yet we are so angry because we do not understand why “we are going through such tribulations”, “why won’t the pain go away”, “what have we done to deserve all this?”

I have found that keeping a song in my heart brings so much healing to my soul in times of undescribable pain. Because there is a song for almost every emotion; when life throws it’s hardest blows at me, with tears in my eyes and a shaky voivce; I will praise the Lord or lay my complains at His feet- for I know the morning will come and He will release the breakthrough for me.

When a loved one is in pain and I find no words of comfort for them; when there is no explanation good enough for their pain, and my presence seems to not make a difference; I sing a song in my heart and ask the Lord to come through for me.

There is power in a song. The power comes not only from the beats or rhythm of the song (for at times we get those wrong, or those of us wh are vocally wounded make it unbearable to listen); but from the picture that comes to mind when a song of victory is sang, from the release of spiritual chains that had one bound; more so from the reassurance of the mighy words in a song.

Though we walk and stumble along the way, though the devil may try to take our hope and shatter our dreams; he cannot steal our song... for it is kept in the heart.

A new Covenant

So many things have happened in the past few weeks; I have faced so many challenges and the devil almost had me where he wanted to place me. But little did He know that the Lord was on my side; even at times when I lost all hope and forgot all about my faith, I somehow still had the strength to make it through-how great is the Lord?
One of the biggest challenges was when my relationship with someone who had been my best friend for more than a decade told me what I had to offer as a friend was not good enough- it was hard, I felt it was a blow below the belt because in my eyes I had given the relationship the best I could give.
The Lord never left me though, for I still heard the still small voice from afar; the voice that whispered sweet words of courage and promises in my ear. The Lord never left my side, nor did He take away His promises; but I once more allowed humanity to take control over divinity. I was so troubled and worried, my faith was clouded by doubt. But my father’s grace was always upon me, His promises still held true and His word never changed.
I love the Lord, and I have made a covenant with Him again. My heart is willing, and I place my hope and faith at His feet. I ask of Him to guide me, to keep me strong. To shelter me with His love and instil in me the character of Christ and the seed of Spiritual growth. I know He never left me, and I return to Him to have Him fill my cup once more.

A positive Spiritual attitude

Philippians 2:5-8 “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!”
A positive Spiritual attitude is joyful to God for Christ is light, and in him is no darkness at all. It looks toward the light. It speaks the praise of God and makes others happy. Doing this work will strengthen the best atitude. Throw the windows of the soul wide open heavenward, and let the sunshine of Christ’s righteousness in. Morning, noon, and night your heart may be filled with the bright rays of heaven’s light.”As a Christian I have much to praise God for.Whatever my struggles, whatever my fears, whatever my pains, whatever my losses and disappointments, I have much to be thankful to God. No matter what my immediate situation is, I still have the hope and promise of eternal life in Jesus, the hope and promise that “there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” (
Rev. 21:4). That alone, if nothing else, gives me reasons to praise.
Before we can praise in sincerity, we need to have personally experienced the goodness of the Lord. We need to know for ourselves the reality of God and the reality of God’s love for us as individuals. This is something the Lord will do for anyone and everyone who is open to His leading. It is only our stubborn hearts and carnal natures that keep us from knowing for ourselves the goodness and love of God. And once we come to know that goodness and that love, how could we help but praise the Lord?

Let us learn to live more and more in an attitude of praise and thanksgiving to the Lord, despite whatever trials and sufferings we face

reason,season, or lifetime?

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When you know which one it is; you will know what to do for that person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON; it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, or provide some guidance and support; to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They are there for the reason you need them to be; whatever it may be. Sometimes, without any wrongdoing; the relationship might come to an end. They may die, or maybe just walk away, sometimes the things they do may cause you to take the stand. You need not despair; for your need has been met- be it pleasantly, or not. Your desires might be fulfilled- then their work is done.

When people come in to your life for a SEASON; your turn has come to share, grow, and learn. The experience might make you laugh, bring you peace, or leave you in pain. You could learn something new, and the joy that comes at such times is so unbelievable- for it's only for a SEASON. Try not to doubt; if it's for a SEASON, it might feel real- because it's real.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, you build a solid foundation to have solid relationships. Yours is to accept the lesson! Love them, and put what you have learned to use in every other relationship, and area of your life.

Remember: "love is blind; friendship is calirvoyant."

Joy

John 16: 20-“You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.” Jesus knew that life on this earth would not be easy; that at times is would be difficult and discouraging to continue in this walk. He knew that we would make bad choices, suffer illnesses, bare the brunt of broken relationships and even suffer for our faith in God. He knew from the beginning that we would at times grieve along the way. But in the midst of our pain and grieving, Jesus reminds us that one day our grief will turn into joy.
If you have accepted Christ as your Savior-know that your eternity is set! Take this truth with you; that His love for you will turn grief into joy. For when your heart is pained, the Lord is watching every tear that runs down your face. When you find yourself in difficult situations, and you will; don’t lose focus of the big picture- know that things are going to get better.
There are so many tips in the world about finding joy; motivational speakers advice us to put ourselves and happiness first before everything, bankers advice us to invest as much as we can to enjoy life in the later stages of adulthood, and even our doctors advice us to put our health first. The steps that I have for you today are found in the book of Romans 12:12-“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer.” We’ve all been through a lot of despair and sorrow at some time in our lives, and we all know this road is not always easy to travel with the hope that joy is ahead of it all. But these three steps are meant to help us get out of our despair- to find joy in the Lord when our cares are too heavy for us.

Psalm 16:11-“You have made known to me the path of life;you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
Psalm 112- “Praise the LORD.Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who finds great delight in his commands.”
Rom 7:22- “For in my inner being I delight in God's law.”
